Tewkesbury Abbey

Tewkesbury Abbey is a stunning structure and the Norman tower can be seen from miles away.  It’s been an imposing feature of the town’s landscape for nearly 900 years and is a must-see if you’re in the area.  The abbey was founded here in the 10th century and was originally used as the church for the Benedictine Monastery. After the detachment of the monasteries it became the parish church for the town of Tewkesbury. Upton upon Severn

It used to the only river crossing available for many miles and it was also a port, booming with vessels carrying goods to and from the rich agricultural areas around it. On the East bank is a flourishing marina, and Upton’s historic success can be seen in its variety of captivating old buildings.  The town offers some great places to eat and drink along with many independent shops.
